My brother and I love everything about golf. We love to play. We love to analyze courses. We love to relive holes, the best and the worst, good shots, bad shots, birdies, and snowmen. We like to have a good laugh at our father’s expense. We like to have a beer and a cigar on the course. Our brothers-in-law love to play. We love outings. Scrambles, Golf trips.
Probably almost as much we love to play golf, we love the gear. New brands, polos, golf shoes, hats, you name it we discuss it, we buy it, we wear it. Right now, it seems like there is a new boutique golf brand popping up every ten minutes. We like 'em all. When we visit each other in either California or Arizona to play some golf, inevitably one of us will comment on the other’s polo. Cool design, I like the collar, the logo is awesome but, the main question is…How much did it cost?????
It’s usually only cool if one of us got it on sale. Paying full price sucks because they’re hard to find for less than a hundred bucks. We’ve spent a lot of time talking about why the hell golf polos cost so much? Green fees have gone up.
Clubs are like a mortgage payment. When we lose a ball, we basically calculate it as cost per unit. Why do we have to go to discount department stores to get our polos at half-price? We don’t want a $20 polo from a wholesale warehouse store and we don’t want to drop the equivalent of a green fee every time we like a shirt.
That’s where Malarkey Golf comes in. We set out to make a stylish, comfortable golf polo like everyone else but sell it for half the price! And, we are doing it. We are selling it at about twice what it costs to make the polo rather than 4-6 times. Why? To finally provide something cool and affordable for our customers. We aren’t trying to make enough money to pay our sponsored athletes and we aren’t trying to sell you on how we are fashion bros inspired by our love of the game. We are just two normal dudes who like to golf, like the gear that goes with it, but don’t want to pay ridiculous amounts of money to get the polo we want.
If the cost of your golf shirt makes you feel better about it, then maybe Malarkey Golf isn’t for you. There is no malarkey about our shirts. They’re cool. They’re comfortable. They’re affordable.
